Sheila Talbitzer - Photography and Fiber

While my work may vary in execution and presentation, it is all derived from personal experience and the intense need for communication and connection.
Oftentimes, for me, words fail the complexity of the human emotional landscape. This failure is why my images exist. They are meant to communicate complicated or convoluted feelings and experiences using imagery and symbolism that is both personal and universal while also free from the burden of concrete meaning. I believe what makes me human is also what makes the viewer human. I seek a way to cultivate connection without assumption and without dilution.
